Mrs. Jennifer Marie Pete 1956-2026

Jennifer Marie Johnson-Pete was born July 21, 1956, in Louisiana to the proud parents Lester Joseph and Dolores Johnson, which both preceded her in death. She was the eldest born of three siblings.

Jennifer accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and continued to her walk with the Lord through the end of her life. Jennifer developed a love for music and began singing in church choirs. She loved singing, dancing, and spending time in church where she joyfully lifted her voice in many choirs. Jennifer’s parents decided to move the family to Los Angeles, California in the early 1960s.

Jennifer attended Catholic school throughout her early education. When she graduated from high school she went on to college to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After launching her career as a nurse Jennifer decided to relocate to Houston Texas, where she continued her career as a nurse and met and married the love of her life, Milton John Pete, which preceded her in death.

Of this union two children were born, John Ryan Pete and Jalysa Marie Pete. Additionally, she lovingly embraced five bonus children through marriage. She was also blessed with many bonus grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Jennifer retired from nursing in 2025. Much of her life was dedicated to loving and caring for others. Outside of her profession, she loved singing and dancing, and spending time in church where she joyfully lifted her voice in the choir.

She peacefully transitioned on February 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Jennifer was truly the life of the party—warm, inviting and full of joy. She had a beautiful spirit that drew people to her, and her laughter could light up any room. Loving and kind, yet truthful and stern when needed, she carried a motherly presence that made everyone feel cared for and welcomed.

Jennifer fought a good fight, but she was tired and now she rests in peace. Her love, strength and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves to mourn son and daughter, John Ryan Pete and Jalysa Marie Pete. Brothers, Stanley (wife Easter) Johnson, Sr. and Jerome Johnson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
